Roly Smoldon has 15 years experience in the IT sector in both the UK and New Zealand. His areas of expertise include reducing cost for companies, increasing utilisation of resources, cloud computing, virtual desktops, licensing compliance, perimeter security, web security, email security, building EAL or PCI compliant networks and managed security. Roly is the Managing Director at MPA and had been instrumental in bringing Citrix, Secure Computing, SafeNet and Wyse to New Zealand and growing them to be market leaders. Roly has also worked with local partners to establish number of Managed Security Providers. Roly consults with large central government departments, banking and finance, utilities, defence and high assurance networks. Roly has an Honours Degree in Humanities.
Deidre Steyn has 14 years' marketing and channel management experience in the engineering, finance and IT industries across South Africa, UK and New Zealand. Her areas of expertise include strategic product marketing, vendor management, brand development and market research. In her position as Channel Manager, Deidre manages the relationships with international vendors like McAfee, SafeNet, Wyse, Fluke Networks, AppSense and Mobotix. Deidre also acts as the interface between MPA and our integrator partners like gen-i, Axon, Datacom, Datacraft, Fujitsu and is responsible for driving the Value Added programme. Deidre has a B.Com degree in Marketing & Communications.
Mark Micklefield has 16 years' experience in enterprise IT solution design and sales across UK, Europe and New Zealand. His areas of expertise include networking, security and process control systems which he has developed from an initial background in automation and supercomputer systems design in the UK. Mark has managed technical projects like developing fluid dynamic and GIS modelling systems for European Research institutes through to solving enterprise business problems such as securing the national networks of major utilities. In the UK he managed consortiums of software development and integration partners to deliver complex IT management solutions for Top100 finance and infrastructure companies. In NZ at MPA he has consulted with finance, utility, government and telecommunications enterprises to manage the design and deployment of security and network management solutions for organisations such as TVNZ, Mighty River Power, ASB Bank, Meridian and Contact Energy. Mark has a BSC in Engineering and an MSc in Information Systems.
Dominic Lowe has 12 years' experience in sales covering the UK, Europe and New Zealand. His areas of expertise include business development in Information Security and B2B sales and solutions for a leading NZ Telco. He was a sales manager for luxury sports cruisers in the UK and NZ and prior to that a navigator on board a seismic research vessel. As Sales Manager in NZ, he took a new high ticket marine brand and grew it to be the most popular brand in its class for NZ. In his role at MPA, Dom has consulted with government departments, national security, finance, utilities and the health sector to manage the design and deployment of security solutions. These organisations include Southern Cross Healthcare, Paymark, Farmers, Bank of New Zealand, New Zealand Post, Ports of Auckland, Aviation Security Service. Dom has a BSc Hons in Marine Science and an OCN Diploma of Science.
Jon Flatley has nine years' experience in sales and logistics across UK and New Zealand. His areas of expertise include Thin Computing, wireless connectivity and Surveillance over IP. Jon has managed projects reducing the cost of desktop computing across central/local Government departments and corporations, helped design IP surveillance networks for various corporate clients and schools and implemented high-speed building to building wireless networks. During his time at MPA Jon has consulted with organisations such as Department of Corrections, Lyttleton Port, New Zealand Defence Force, Fonterra, Taupo District Council and Kiwibank.
Ed Vella has 22 years' experience in IT solution design, support and implementation across Australia and New Zealand. His areas of expertise include networking, IT security and server based computing. As a technical consultant he is able to understand the business problems and suggest solutions to address these. Ed has an Electronic Engineering Certificate, Medical Electronics Certificate, and Diploma in Engineering Management, is a Microsoft Certified Professional, has completed his CCNA course and is technically certified in all products distributed by MPA.
