Following the global trend, New Zealand enterprises are moving to user centric models for delivering IT services to their businesses. The problem that arises however is intermittent application performance, as it has an immediate effect on the user's experience and could negatively impact the business. The increasing complexity of applications is exacerbating the issues as multi-tier architectures mean it is more difficult to identify which component of the application delivery is degrading. The users don't care - they just need the application to work predictably and quickly.
MPA experts have found that poor application performance not only means lost productivity and profitability, but also unhappy users. The IT team has to react and resolve the issues, with little ability to determine or isolate what happened 30 minutes ago and limited visibility into how the application is actually delivered to the frustrated user.
With virtualisation and the drive to cloud computing, NZ enterprises now face the challenge of solving application performance issues for their users in the core of their own datacentre, the hosted datacentre or their cloud provider. For an IT department, datacentre or cloud provider to respond adequately to user issues, the ability to look back in time and provide historical forensic analysis. The expectation is to be able to pinpoint why an application is slowing down, regardless of the multi- tiered architecture.
MPA has found that the Fluke Networks application and network analysis suite can immediately pinpoint application performance issues for the user in a multi-tiered architecture. In our experience, this reduces cost, minimises productivity loss by solving issues rapidly and reduces helpdesk load through proactive management of application delivery. By using Fluke, the problems are identified before the users are affected.
In New Zealand, organisations including ASB and Contact Energy have implemented Fluke Networks technologies. ASB determined that through using Fluke they were able to maintain the highest levels of service to their users whilst reducing ongoing cost.
